- How to Fade In and Fade Out Audio in Logic Pro X

By cthomas , January 10, in Logic Pro. Method 1: select all of the audio regions in question and 2-click on the fade-out parameter for the last one selected and type in a value. Or, using the mouse, scroll the fade-out value up. If you want to further change the duration of the fade, use either of the above procedures to tweak it. Note that unless all of your audio regions end at exactly the same time, the fade-outs you'll be applying will affect each region differently. In other words, the fade-out amount is always back-timed from the end of the region you're fading.

Method 2: this doesn't utilize the crossfade tool at all. Instead, create a new track. If you're mixing down via multiple outputs, assign that track to the Master Fader. Enable automation in touch mode on that track and establish a node so that that track is set statically at 0dB. Then either manually draw in your fade, or, use the mouse or control surface, if you have one to create your fade-out. If any of your tracks are fading out and there's reverb or delay on those tracks, using this will kill the tails of those effects, in which case you'll need to fade each track individually using whatever method works best fade-out parameter or track automation.

That should add the output channel to the Arrange screen. From there you open up Automation on the Output track in the arrange screen. Automate the volume the way you like. Sorry again! Not sure if you realize that the clicking on the Output instead of the master track would yield exactly the same result. The Master's fader is simply an offset for the Out 's fader. Using the crossfade tool, I can only perform one fade at a time. I assume this should be simple, but the manual tells me nothing about how to accomplish this.
